The Working the Woods project is part of an exciting national pilot, one of only four across the UK highlighting the links between protected landscapes and woodland.

The Working the Woods Project builds on a number of successful woodland and forestry initiatives that have been run in the Tamar Valley and South Devon AONBs and Dartmoor National Park. These include Tamar Valley WoodMeet and the South Hams Woodland Campaign.

The project hopes to stimulate more use of locally derived timber by improved coordination within the woodland sector; promote wood product marketing; raised public awareness of the benefits of woodlands; creation of new partnerships and shared good practice amongst woodland sector businesses.
